Set in the small Russian village of Anatevka, Fiddler on The Roof centers around Tevye, a poor but passionate Jewish father devoted to holding his family together in a turbulent and changing world. Challenged by poverty, prejudice, and the romantic entanglements of their five daughters; Tevye and his wife Golde approach every burden with wisdom, humor and song. After singing the praises of “tradition,” Tevye’s family and community face their greatest challenge when an edict from the Czar threatens to evict them from their homes. How will Tevye hold his family together when they are forced to abandon all they hold dear?
