About This Show

Taproot Theatre Company presents the premiere of A Radioland Christmas, by local writer Lauri Evans Deason. The golden age of radio takes center stage in this hilarious and heartwarming new holiday production.

A Radioland Christmas is set in the year 1943. Radio is in its golden age and families across the country are tuned into their favorite Christmas Eve specials. But this year for one local Seattle station, it’s all going wrong. Ned has writer’s block and with one hour till showtime disaster is looming for KSEA’s “Radioland Christmas” special. The script is a dud, the actors are walking out and the clock is still ticking. To make matters worse, the station’s new custodian has brought his kid with him. Only one thing is certain; when the “On Air” sign lights up, anything could happen.

Additional Tuesday performances are held December 21 and 28.

A dessert reception with the cast and director follows the opening night performance on Friday, November 26.
