It’s the 1920s, a time bursting with energy and opportunity. As painters for Chicago’s Radium Dial Company, Catherine Donohue and her colleagues gain more than a paycheck; they find friendship, independence, and seemingly endless possibilities–that is, until they find themselves falling apart piece by piece. Inspired by a true story and penned by Melanie Marnich, one of today’s most exuberantly theatrical writers, These Shining Lives pits industrial might against four fiercely determined friends.
These Shining Lives is presented as part of Centerstage’s First Look Series. The First Look program provides a safe space to cultivate new voices, create and strengthen artistic relationships, and invite audiences to join the development process as participant-observers.
