About This Show

Jonny Grave is a guitarist, songwriter, singer, bandleader, teacher, musical historian, and Bluesman from Washington DC. Growing up in a very musical family, Grave was introduced to the sounds of American traditional folk music early on. At age fifteen he found himself learning slide guitar techniques from old Blues records, and by seventeen he was performing them live.

The Mighty Joshua moves listeners by opening minds and activating bodies through song. He encourages positive change with lyrics that raise consciousness in his community and beyond. Experimenting with sound and rhythm, Joshua draws from his musical roots in African percussion and roots reggae.

After years of Soviet oppression, The Richmanian Ramblers bought their way onto a cargo ship with homemade incenses and cured meats. After commandeering the ship and steering it toward Richmond, they played a benefit show so legendary, fans demanded they remain stateside.

Anthony Pirog is making his mark on the guitar playing universe, one sonically enthralling, diversely influenced project after another. From his work on Janel and Anthony’s “Where is Home,” described in Guitar Player Magazine as “approachable experimentalism,” to his “pristinely executed guitar solos” with his trio featuring Michael Formanek and Ches Smith, Anthony displays a “crystalline tone that’s immediately recognizable as his own” in his ever-evolving conception of how a guitar can sound.

Also featuring DJ Neville C spinning all vinyl roots country, reggae and world folk.
