About This Show

A moving tale of America in transition: constantly blending, bending and adapting as it faces the beginning of the 20th century. Winner of four 1998 Tony Awards, Ragtime is based on the novel by E.L. Doctorow. The lives of real historical figures are intertwined with those of a young black mother, an immigrant jewish man and a wealthy white woman. Lavish costumes and sets are combined with a winning score.
