One Man, Two Guvnors

STC presents One Man, Two Guvnors by Richard Bean, based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, which begins at STC in May. In this English version of Goldoni’s classic Italian comedy, sex, food and money are high on the agenda.

Francis, a washed-up washboard player, ends up in Brighton working for two bosses — one a woman masquerading as her murdered gangster brother and the other a kind of white-collar criminal. Laughs ensue as Francis tries his hardest to keep his two “masters” from meeting.
