Courage! The Civil War in Washington

Historic Strolls presents Courage! The Civil War in Washington. The Civil War has begun! Washington City is filled with spies, soldiers, hot-air balloons, officers directing cattle and a real pistol-packing heroine risking her life to save others. A ‘citizen’ of Washington City leads you safely through the crowded streets of the bustling capitol in wartime. As the tour winds its way past actual Civl War era structures you’ll meet amazing people like the actor who changed history and a woman who triumphed in a man’s profession. You’ll hear stories from Civil War diaries and you’ll take home a typical Civil War recipe. Children on the tour can participate in a word clue scavenger hunt for prizes. *A portion of proceeds donated to American Red Cross, Arlington Chapter.

Playing on the third Saturday of the month from April to November. It starts at 11:00 a.m. rain or shine.
