Ambition Facing West

About the Show

This luminous tale explores the dreams of opportunity that have sent people westward for generations. Using the far-flung path of one family as his frame, playwright Anthony Clarvoe opens Ambition Facing West in turn-of-the-century Croatia, and then gracefully slips back and forth between 1940s Wyoming and 1980s Japan. It is a compelling look at how the desire between parents and children to hold each other close dramatically collides with the need to let go. Jeremy Skidmore directs.

“Ambitious and thought provoking.”
