In 2008, playwrights Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen traveled to Jordan to find out firsthand what happened to Iraqi civilians driven from their country by the chaos and violence of the Iraqi war. The duo interviewed some 35 people who have fled to the relative safety of Jordan — a cross-section of lives interrupted, portrayed onstage by a 13-member cast of professional actors. Their conversations were crafted into Aftermath, a theatrical event that peers into the heart of darkness to find our shared humanity.
