About This Show

A wild, unpredictable and hilarious deconstruction of Shakespeare’s classic, 500 Clown Macbeth takes audience participation and unpredictability to a new level. Three clowns fight for the right to play the lead role in a performance that features no red noses, oversized shoes or little cars. Smashing through the fourth wall, the company conspires with the audience to redefine “clown,” “Macbeth,” and even “500,” propelling the show to its exhilarating conclusion.

Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar are available during the performances.

At 6:30 PM on Thursday, November 30, 500 Clown offers a free hour-long panel discussion on clowning and comedy.

From 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, there is a public workshop on clowning. To reserve a space in the Saturday workshop, please contact Madeline Bell at mbell1@umd.edu
