New York City
Mexico City’s Teatro Tinglado combines its distinctive south-of-the-border sensibility with contemporary puppetry. The Repugnant Story of Clotario Demoniax is a high-flying mix of puppetry and acting styles presented in a crazy quilt of imagery, led by third generation puppeteer Pablo Cueto. Clotario Demoniax is the contemporary cousin of Italy’s Pulcinella and England’s Punch, a psychopath who murders his best friend to win a woman he doesn’t truly love. The show is a tale of circuitous plans, plots, and mysterious intrigues, and is told with bite and impetuous glee.
