About This Show

Elizabeth Gilbert’s play delves deeply into the issue of separation, both personal and institutional. Release Yearning is based on the playwright’s interviews with Todd Willingham, an inmate on Death Row in Texas. A woman who visits a man on Death Row as a political statement unexpectely falls in love with him. To what lengths will she go to help her imprisoned lover? The play is performed by the theater company Baubo Meanie, under the direction of Amy Bruce.
