CYP17

In CYP17, choreographer André Gingras set out to explore ideas of genetic engineering; transformation through science, through mystery, through imagination; modern urban myths such as alien abductions and pregnancies; and medical disorders that affect the human body (as in the writings of Dr. Oliver Sacks and Gilles Deleuze). This is the first time that André Gingras has used video as an integral part of his work, and he worked closely with video designer Fabio Iaquone to ensure that the video would become another character, interacting with the dancer, not a decorative element.
