About This Show

Tom Pelphrey, currently nominated for a Daytime Emmy for his portrayal of troubled teen Jonathan Randall on the hit soap opera Guiding Light, stars in Amphibian Productions staged reading of Phyllis Nagy’s The Talented Mr. Ripley. If you think that you know Ripley from the movie, think again. Nagy’s macabre and heady adaptation of Fort Worth writer Patricia Highsmith’s cult novel takes place in the schizophrenic mind of Tom Ripley, a criminal with an ambiguous past. Sent to Italy to try and coax home a rich man’s son, Tom becomes seduced by money, success, and the good life, and he’s willing to kill for it when his newfound happiness is threatened. The plot takes surprising turns in this thriller that blurs the lines between illusion and reality.
