Set on the morning of September 12, 2001 in Manhattan, The Mercy Seat tells the story of a man and a woman who suddenly find themselves faced with the exhilarating and terrifying choice of either emerging from the tragedy and resuming their past lives or creating an entirely new life together, free from debt, deceit and responsibility.
