About This Show

Undermain Theatre presents Moira Buffini?s Silence — a wild, turn-of-the-first-millennium romp in which religions, the sexes and mystic mushrooms collide in ways both comical and bizarre.

Britons and Vikings clash as an enraged bedridden king sends an army after Silence, a strange young lord from the North, his new bride Ymma and their entourage: a feisty ladies? lady, a brooding knight and a priest who is losing his religion. This motley crew of voyagers challenges contemporary notions as they sleep in pagan tombs, see visions and celebrate the turn of the first millennium on the open road while making their way north to revelation and freedom.
