Once Upon a Mattress

Based on The Princess and the Pea, Once Upon a Mattress is a musical rendition of the tale of Princess Winifred. She can wrestle men, lift weights and swim moats, but she must take the royal test to prove that she is a true Princess. Can she truly feel that single pea through all of those mattresses? Will she win the hand of the Prince? Will she get any sleep at night? Music is by Mary Rodgers, with lyrics by Marshall Barer, and a book by Marshall Barer, Dean Fuller, and Jay Thompson. Songs include “Shy,” “Very Soft Shoes,” and “Yesterday I Loved You.” Neale Whitmore directs, with musical direction by Stephanie Riggs and choreography by Andrea Bueno. Expressions Repertory Theatre presents this exiting musical comedy.
