New York City
Prepare to be transported to a magical land where time stands still, chivalry isn’t dead, and dreams actually do come true. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella unleashes the enchantment on PRT’s stage with such songs as “The Sweetest Sound”, “In My Own Little Corner” and “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful”. Adapted from the timeless fairy tale, Cinderella originally appeared on television in 1957 with Julie Andrews in the title role. It has gone on to be remade in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren and in 1997 starring Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother.
This stage adaptation, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, still causes the hearts of children and adults to soar when the slipper fits. At the helm of this enchanting tale is newcomer Mark Frie.
