About This Show

The musical Chicago, the movie version of which is currently enjoying wide critical acclaim and box office success, promises to be a season highlight. With music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, based on a 1926 play by Chicago Tribune reporter Maurice Dallas Watkins, the show tells the story of Roxie Hart, a chorus girl who murders her lover, then manages not only to avoid execution with the help of razzle-dazzle lawyer Billy Flynn, but uses the trial to propel herself to showbiz stardom along with another murderous chorus girl, Velma Kelly. A parable of American justice, it is a sexy musical extravaganza that includes several show-stopping numbers such as “All That Jazz,” “Razzle Dazzle” and “Class.”

There is no Saturday matinee on the first Saturday (October 18), but there are new Wednesday performances on October 29 and November 5, at 7:30.
