New York City
Lyric Stage presents Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical Allegro. One of the most rarely produced titles in the Rodgers and Hammerstein canon, this production marks its regional premiere. The show chronicles nearly four decades in the life of an Everyman, Joseph Taylor, Jr., from cradle through a mid-life discovery of who he is and what is truly important in life. The unique structure of the show allows the audience to be whisked from Joe?s birth, through childhood, college, marriage and the tranquillity of his small Midwestern hometown to the hectic life of the big city in a series of scenes and musical sequences dazzling in their simplicity and stunning in their impact.
There is an additional performance on Saturday, March 2 at 2:30 pm
