About the Show

All About Bette: An Evening with Bette Davis is a one-woman biopic about the iconic screen actress. Bette Davis has rightfully earned a few nicknames over the years, including “Queen of Hollywood,” the “First Lady of the American Screen,” and “the Fifth Warner Brother.” Starting out at Warner Brothers in 1931, she landed her first starring role in The Man Who Played God. Davis went on to earn ten Academy Awards nominations, a record later broken by Katharine Hepburn’s twelve nominations, and won two Academy Awards for Dangerous (1936) and Jezebel (1939).

Proclaimed by many as the greatest screen actress of all time, Davis captured the hearts of thousands with her captivating screen presence, her phenomenal portrayal of strong women, and with her trademark seductive gaze, for which songwriter Kim Carnes named her song, “Bette Davis Eyes.” As a leading diva in the hey-day of Hollywood starlets, Bette Davis’s life off-screen was just as–if not more–intriguing than her on-screen career. Davis married four times and had countless affairs, including one with millionaire director Howard Hughes. Jac Adler directs.
