Lizzie, The Musical

By popular demand, DMP is bringing back Lizzie: The Musical to Austin this summer! Winner of 5 B. Iden Payne Awards, including Outstanding Musical and Lead Actor (Stella Frey-Ginsberg), Lizzie is a searing rock musical inspired by the infamous 1893 Borden family murders and the trial of Lizzie Borden. Written by Steven Cheslik-deMeyer, Tim Maner, and Alan Steven Hewitt, Lizzie premiered at New York’s Living Theater in 2009 and has since “swung her axe in over 60 cities in 6 countries,” earning Best Musical honors across the globe. This summer’s cast features Stella Frye-Ginsberg (Lizzie Borden), Leslie Hollingsworth (Emma Borden), Libby Detling (Bridget Sullivan), Maryanna Tollemache (Alice Russell), Madi Sipe, and Jess Workman. The creative team includes Michael E. McKelvey (director), Ellie Jarrett Shattles (music director), Glenda Wolfe (costumes), Sam Chesney (lighting), and Angelica Chesney (stage manager). Lizzie is recommended for audiences ages 13 and up.
