About This Show

ACT is proud to present the American premiere of A Skull in Connemara, a black Irish comedy and a work of unapologizing surprises and unexpected depths. For one week each autumn, Mick Dowd is hired to dig up the bones in parts of his local cemetery to make room for the new arrivals. When it comes time for him to dig up those of his own late wife, strange rumors gradually begin to surface regarding his involvement in her sudden death seven years ago. One of the freshest, most original new voices in the theatre to come along in years, Irish-born Martin McDonagh received a Tony Award for his play Beauty Queen of Leenane and received both the Evening Standard Award and the George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright.
