About This Show

Based on the beloved children’s book, The Boxcar Children tells the story of the Alden orphans — Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny — who set out to make it on their own as a family. It is the Depression and times are tough, but ingenuity and perseverance enable these loyal siblings to enjoy the comforts of home. And what a home it is — an abandoned boscar on the bank of a creek. Whit MacLaughlin directs Barbara Field’s adaptation of the book by Gertrude Chandler Warner.
