Ruddigore, or The Witch’s Curse

A wildly funny supernatural romp, Ruddigore, or The Witch’s Curse tells the story of young Robin Oakapple – the rightful Baronet of Ruddigore, Sir Ruthven Murgatroyd – who has disguised himself in an attempt to escape the curse placed on his family centuries ago. The inescapable curse forces those who claim the title Baronet of Ruddigore to commit a daily crime or die in horrible agony. The shy young hero has thus escaped to lead an idyllic farmer’s life while his younger brother Despard assumes both the title and the curse.
