About the Show
God of Carnage is the Tony Award-winning play by Yazmina Reza (translated from the original French by Christopher Hampton).
Two couples meet to talk through the playground brawl between their adolescent sons that resulted in injury to one of them. Set in the stylish Brooklyn apartment of one of the couples, the ensuing discussion rapidly progresses from upper middle-class civility to outright hostilities fueled by plenty of alcohol. Initially, the couples spar with each other but the arguments degenerate into hilarious confrontations of men against men, men against the women and other shifting alliances. The play suggests that under a civilized veneer lies a dark side to all human interactions.
