About This Show

The international phenomenon of the telenovela comes alive when a Latin American odd-jobsman, who follows the daily dramas while working, begins to imagine himself as the stories’ characters. Thaddeus Phillips, creator of Festival hits PlanetLear, The Tempest, and Lost Soles, performs the main role in English and Spanish with English subtitles (with his signature object puppetry) from a script by Victor Mallarino, a leading Latin American telenovela actor. An original televised drama, broadcast exclusively during this piece, will be performed by Mr. Mallarino and other tele-novela stars. ¡El Conquistador! is the first in a trilogy about the Americas.

Part of the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe.
