About the Show

Whether it’s your first time or your hundredth time, there is “no day but today” to see Victoria Theatre Association’s presentation of Rent. Set in the East Village of New York City, this Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning musical tells the moving story of life far from the “hip hooray” of Broadway. A gang of struggling artists share emotionally stirring experiences as they hustle their way through a life of disease, addictions and homelessness. With mixtures of fear and bravery, the young fall in love and learn to survive the harsh realities that surround them, emerging with hope for today and faith in tomorrow.

Rent was written by Jonathan Larson, and features musical direction by Tim Weil, choreography by Marlies Yearby, set design by Paul Clay, costume design by Angela Wendt and lighting design by Blake Burba.
