About This Show

Set in Budapest in the 1930’s, this charming, warm, ageless comedy is a love letter from Broadway’s golden age of the romantic musical. Fall in love with the story of two intensely competitive perfume shop clerks who find romance with the most unlikely people – each other. Funny, intelligent and sentimental, this timeless tale of secret romantic pen pals, along with the winsome eccentric colleagues who aid and abet them, is the inspiration for such enduring Hollywood hits as “The Shop Around the Corner,” “In the Good Old Summertime,” and “You’ve Got Mail.”

Featuring music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and a book by Joe Masteroff. Based on a play by Miklos Laszlo. Directed and choreographed by James Brennan, with music direction by Tom Helm.
