Newman and Laura Oltman built music communities and lifelong relationships.  For nearly fifty years, the Newman &
Oltman Guitar Duo has brought people together through music—as performers,
educators, festival founders, commissioners, mentors, and artistic leaders.
Their influence extends far beyond the concert stage. Through festivals,
educational programs, recordings, and commissioning projects, they have helped
connect generations of musicians and audiences while shaping the modern
classical guitar landscape.
