About This Show

The year 2008 marks the 35th anniversary of Zodiaque Dance Company. The Company kicksoff this anniversary year by presenting Celebration 35, an awe-inspiring array of diversified choreography performed by UB dancers, exhibiting a tremendous range of styles and repertoire. The company fosters tradition while continuing to encourage the creation of new works by faculty, students, alumni, and guest choreographers. CELEBRATION 35 highlights include works choreographed by UB Dance faculty members Melanie Aceto, Tressa Gorman Crehan, Tracy Navarro, and William E. Thomas; a joint work by UB faculty emeritus Eileen Lambert and alumnus Michael Lambert; choreography by recent UB graduate and emerging choreographer Tim Goodman; and featured guest choreography by alumna Chanon Judson.

On Saturday, November 15, a special gala performance of Celebration 35 will ignite the Center for the Arts. Highlighted that evening at 7pm will be a pre-show with a performance by Zodiaque Studio Dance Ensemble and the presentation of Zodiaque Alumni Achievement Awards and Zodiaque Directors’ Awards. Zodiaque honorees include Lorraine Belczak, Joseph Celej, Saul Elkin, Eileen Lambert, and Chanon Judson. Featured in the Celebration 35 will be a one-night only performance of alumni awardees Chanon Judson and Joseph Celej. The celebration will conclude with a gathering of Zodiaque alumni, friends and guests in the Center for the Arts Atrium.
