The William Hill III Trio delivers performances rooted in the tradition of the classic piano trio while bringing a youthful energy and modern perspective to the music. Drawing from Detroit’s rich jazz piano legacy, the trio combines hard-swinging bebop, blues, gospel, and straight-ahead jazz with original compositions that emphasize melody, groove, and collective improvisation.
William Hill III is a pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader based in New York City hailing from Detroit, Michigan. Hill is a graduate of the Detroit School of Arts (Class of 2022) and a recent graduate of Manhattan School of Music with a bachelors of music degree (Class of 2026). He will continue his education in the fall as a graduate student at The Juilliard School (Class of 2028).
