About This Show

The legendary Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan and Cedar Walton all graduated from the Jazz Messengers. Led by master drummer Art Blakey, this group’s hard-swingin’ bluesy style brought classics like “Moanin'” and “Along Came Betty” to life. Another great, post-bop tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson lent his unique sound and complex style to his songs including “Recordame,” “Inner Urge,” and “Black Narcissus.” Westchester Jazz Orchestra offers a tribute to both of these seminal figures.
