Having been praised for their "smoking", "endlessly compelling" and "fresh" arrangements in addition to their combustible performances, WJO will premiere their first original commission. Composed by WJO artistic director Mike Holober, “Flow: In Celebration of the Hudson River” commemorates the quadricentennial of Henry Hudson’s river voyage. The Orchestra completes the concert with early American folk, work and field songs including "Down By the Riverside" and "Pick a Bale of Cotton."
