New York City
Like a chimera itself–a mythical two-headed creature–The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger (Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl) work from one heart despite having two separate minds. Each are children of unique circumstances–he is the son of two artistic icons; she is the daughter of a Southern military family and was plucked into the world of modeling and globe-trotting in her early teenage years. They draw from a scope of influence like no other.
Expect music that’s adventurous and playful, anchored by the beautiful blend of Sean and Charlotte’s voices, acoustic guitar and a smattering of other instruments–a vibraphone here, a banjo there. Curiouser and curiouser, GOASTT’s world is a beguiling Wonderland and one stunning debut.
The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger’s performance at Staller Center will be complemented by Yoko Ono’s exhibit in the University Art Gallery, on view from September 6 through October 15: YOKO ONO IMAGINE PEACE: Featuring John & Yoko’s Year of Peace
