About This Show

Married in the Suburbs, featuring book, music, and lyrics by Howard Beckerman, is a lively musical about family life and personal dreams. It was the recipient of a 2001 New York State Council on the Arts grant. Stanley Schorr directs.

The production stars Jim Vignato, voted Best Male Vocalist of 2006 in the “Patchogue Idol” competition, and Denise Antonelle, a vibrant musical theater performer who has played leading roles throughout the metropolitan area.

Married in the Suburbs presents a lively musical look at contemporary suburban life through the experiences of a Long Island husband and wife who leave their dreams behind when they move from Manhattan to Suffolk County to raise a family. Geoff is a composer-lyricist, and Jenny is a singer-actress — a marriage made in heaven, until the pressures of balancing family and finances with artistic aspirations take hold.
