New York City
A nearly bankrupt regional theater company struggles through rehearsals for its 13th annual production of A Christmas Carol which must impress an inspector from the National Endowment for the Arts in order for them to receive their much-needed grant. Things go from bad to worse as the company’s Tiny Tim gets his big break and abandons the show, the actor playing Scrooge tries to work social issues into the plot, and the ghost of Christmas future suffers from stage fright. To top it off, an aspiring actor comes in to audition, is hired, and naturally is mistaken for the inspector! Inspecting Carol is a hilarious alternative to traditional Christmas entertainment.
