Hofstra USA Productions presents Gypsy as part of its summer 2002 season. Featuring music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Arthur Laurents, the musical is a kaleidoscopic picture of life in the theater during the early days of vaudeville. Based on the memoirs of burlesque stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, the show tells the tale of Lee’s unlikely rise to fame and fortune and of the domineering stage mother who pushed her to the top. This beloved musical features many great tunes such as “Everything is Coming Up Roses,” “Let Me Entertain You,” and “You’ll Never Get Away From Me.”
