In The Public, Federico García Lorca takes us into the “theater beneath the sand,” a surreal world where masks are shattered and truth comes to light. Through dreamlike imagery, transforming bodies, and a love that defies convention, the play confronts theater and society with an urgent question: Are we capable of revealing who we truly are before the public?

Presented by Hispanic Federation’s FUERZAfest, in collaboration with Boundless Theatre Company, with the support of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development.
