About This Show

Earth Celebrations Odyssey of the Earth: Winter Pageant is an illuminated procession and performance ceremony celebrating gardens, community, city, and earth. The parade wraps around Tompkins Square Park with a galaxy of 30 glowing lanterns, giant illuminated puppets, glittering snowflakes, spectacular costumed earth, roots, tree, ice, moon, bird, and willowy winter earth and garden spirits, whirling dervish dancers, and luminous cocoons. The Hungry March Band and a dancing bell chorus lead the parade. The pageant winds its way into the La Plaza Cultural Garden (9th Street & Avenue C) for a Winter spectacle and ceremony.

The parade begins at 638 East 6th Street.
