About This Show

Did you know Craig Lucas (Prelude to a Kiss, Dying Gaul) is in the original cast recording of Sweeny Todd? Or that David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly, Golden Child) was a jazz violinist before he gave it up for the more lucrative career of playwright? Celebrate the award-winning playwrights collective with their mentors and inspirations sharing their secret lives at one of New York City’s hottest venues with a silent auction and cabaret of the unexpected!

13P (13 Playwrights, Inc.: Sheila Callaghan, Erin Courtney, Madeleine George, Rob Handel, Ann Marie Healy, Julia Jarcho, Young Jean Lee, Winter Miller, Sarah Ruhl, Kate E. Ryan, Lucy Thurber, Anne Washburn, & Gary Winter) is an OBIE Award winning collective of playwrights that mounts full productions of new plays. The resources of the company are placed at the disposal of the playwright at work, who serves as the company’s artistic director during the production of her play. The plan is to produce 13 plays, one by each member of the group.
