New York City
As songwriters, The Breithaupt Brothers take their cue from the Great American Songbook era, but bring a contemporary energy and outlook to the material that makes their romantic, wry, sophisticated originals seem entirely fresh. Don and Jeff Breithaupt, the composer and lyricist (respectively) that comprise The Breithaupt Brothers, bring their ever-evolving songbook back to Joe’s Pub for another all-star revue, featuring a bumper crop of new songs and favorites, as well as a sampling of songs from Seeing Stars, their “boxing musical,” an old-school romantic comedy that takes place in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in 1937.
Also included in the evening’s line-up of performers (so far!) are: two-time Tony Award-winner James Naughton, 2005 & 2006 Tony nominee Kelli O’Hara (The Light in the Piazza, The Pajama Game), jazz singers Kate McGarry and Rebecca Martin, singer-songwriter Greg Naughton, actress/singer Shelley McPherson, and, all the way from Toronto, singers Adi Braun and Rikki Rumball.
