Five major plays are fused together by the Russian playwright Roxana Kadyrova in a unique reimagining of Chekhov’s world, featuring scenes drawn from The Seagull, Cherry Orchard, Three Sisters and Uncle Vanya. The production spotlights defining moments for Chekhov’s characters before their dreams are forever shattered. We see Kostya Treplev when he still believes that he will be a famous writer; the Three Sisters when they are convinced that will soon move to Moscow; Sonya who believes that her love for a country doctor will be reciprocated; and a collection of characters desperate for a moment when they can finally express themselves with complete honesty.
