About This Show

Woyzeck is the story of the working class. It is a tale of one man’s downward spiral due to his passive reactions to the fires that surround him. Soldier Franz Woyzeck is everyone’s man but his own. To his superiors he is just an ant marching in line. To his comrades, a weak and pathetic soldier. To his doctors, a specimen for medical experimentation. As Woyzeck’s mental stability deteriorates and his wife’s actions with another man are questioned, he hears the fires of nature burn within him – pushing him down a gruesome path of which he cannot escape. Woyzeck can be explained at it’s simplest as “one man’s fight to rid the darkness that haunts him, whatever the cost.”
