About This Show

Biltmore Theatre Company presents Waiting for the Parade. Set from 1944 to1945 in Calgary, Canada, John Murrell’s bittersweet drama invites us to share the lives of five women, left at home, waiting for the parade that signals the war’s end and the return of their men. We follow the women, Red Triangle Hostesses (a U.S.O. type organization) as they gather to work for the war effort, practice air raid drills, leg-painting parties and dances of dark merriment that keep loneliness, doubt and turmoil at bay. Joe Paradise directs.
