Proto-Feminist author and Warhol Factory denizen Valerie Solanas’ long lost 1965 play Up Your Ass returns for a special one-night-only encore engagement. This comedy disappeared more than thirty years ago after Andy Warhol lost an unsolicited copy of the manuscript. The play is a satiric look at gender roles and sexual mores. It centers around Bongi Perez, a sharp-tongued radical, and her encounters with various street types, including a pregnant middle class housewife, two drag queens, a teenager experimenting with an erection, a bimbo, and various chauvinist pigs. George Coates directs an all-female cast of nine.
