About This Show

Trans Plantations is a one-woman play exploring issues of cultural and sexual identity from the point of view of a New York-born Puerto Rican uprooted from her Bronx barrio and transplanted to rural Connecticut at age seven. This Bronx-born, Puerto Rican playwright has been produced by INTAR and Pregones Theater. Janis Astor del Valle received the Zaki Gordan for Excellence in Screenwriting for her feature, Where The Senoritas Are, which she adapted from her full-length play of the same title.
