About This Show

This Lime Tree Bower tells a frank, funny and moving tale of one eventful week in a seaside Irish town. Unfolding in alternating monologues, the play explores themes of loyalty, responsibility and morality.

This Lime Tree Bower is the inaugural production in the theatre space downstairs at Maggie Mae’s, a new home for Irish art, poetry, theatre and dance in the Irish immigrant-dominated neighborhood of Sunnyside. “The atmosphere at Maggie’s is ideally suited to the play,” says director Ralph Moniz. “These three men tell a story with such humor and honesty, they could only be in a theatre or a pub. Here at Maggie’s we’re in both.”
