About This Show

The Subjective Theatre Company presents The White Plague as part of The UnConvention: An American Theater Festival. Written by Karel Capek, and translated by Peter Majer and Cathy Porter.

Capek’s play was written in 1936, two years before Nazi Germany invaded Czechoslovakia. It follows young Dr. Galen as he finds a cure for the white plague, and decides to release his formula only after the country’s Dictator declares peace. A savage and anguisehd satire against Fascist Dictatorship and the Virus of inhumanity.
