About This Show

The Two Sisters; or Douglas Mery; Next to Nothing is a riotous ride through the end times. Ridiculous humor and chilling horror ride roughshod over traditional apocalyptic storytelling. Two clairvoyant sisters have journeyed into the wilderness in search of their long lost mother; instead they find a man without a future, perform brain surgery, and reveal the contents of their underwear drawer. All in the same time it takes to bake a chicken! (Not for the faint of heart or the feeble-minded.)

The Brainum Bros. & Sons Theatrical Outfit is a gang of theatre makers from the American South. They currently specialize in re-imagining works from old, long-forgotten southern tales in order to present them to a diverse and sophisticated audience across the country. Their latest production, and their first to be developed and performed in New York City, The Two Sisters… represents over 10 years of collaboration between these Southern artists, as they re-imagine their award-winning theatre company, The Farm Theatre, here in New York City.

Anthony Cerrato is a director and theatre maker from North Carolina. He has directed over 20 plays including six original productions. His work in New York has included the creation of Under The Sign of the Hourglass, a theatrical production based on the work of Bruno Schulz as well as an ongoing series of theatrical installations based on canonical theatre texts. He was the Assistant Director and Stage Manager to Richard Foreman for three years.
